Welcome to the charming Appalachian Ridge Artisan Cidery, nestled in the picturesque hills of Hendersonville, North Carolina. This delightful cidery is part of a breathtaking landscape that includes the stunning St. Paul Mountain Vineyards. Guests visiting Appalachian Ridge are treated to more than just exceptional hard ciders; they are immersed in a warm atmosphere surrounded by sweeping views of the mountains.
Located at 731 Chestnut Gap Rd, this cidery is a hub for those seeking high-quality, artisan-crafted ciders. With a range that includes the distinguished Bald Top Mountain, Bearwallow Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain, and The Blackbear, each tasting promises a unique journey for your palate. Many visitors rave about the complex flavor profiles, showcasing dry ciders that cater to diverse tastes. Notably, customer Erin Friedrichs couldn’t get enough of the refreshing non-alcoholic cider, reminiscent of fresh autumn apples, encapsulating the essence of fall in a single sip.
The cidery itself is a beautifully renovated barn, adorned with original flooring and reclaimed wood, creating an inviting space for both indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you choose to sip your cider while overlooking the rolling hills or inside the rustic charm of the barn, there is a serene ambiance that enhances the tasting experience. As reviewer Aron Hill expressed, both visitors and locals appreciate the craftsmanship and the fun, knowledgeable staff that elevate each visit to a memorable one.
For those who might prefer something stronger, the cidery also offers delightful spirits, including Rachel Katherine and Hel Katherine, further expanding its repertoire. Each drink tells a story, crafted with care from estate-grown apples. Customers, like Kathleen Wallace, have praised the elevated quality and effervescence found in every pour, making it clear that there is a cider for everyone here, whether you favor something drier or a bit sweeter.
So, if you find yourself in Hendersonville, don’t miss the chance to explore Appalachian Ridge Artisan Cidery. “ I came here with my mom and we had such a nice evening! She got the cider tasting - only 12 - and they all were delicious. I am expecting and ordered the non alcoholic regular cider which tasted just like fresh apples in the fall. The view is beautiful and it was a very calm pleasant atmosphere. ”
“ A beautiful spot to enjoy craft cider. Great views, lots of outdoor seating, and the refurbished barn has original floors and reclaimed wood from the doors to make the tables - great atmosphere in and out! But the real reason to come is the delicious cider -- we tried several and bought some to go. Delicious - if you like drier ciders, they have a good range. ”
“ This cidery is a must-visit! There is a cider for everyone, including some delightfully dry ciders for those who don’t like something sweet. These ciders are elevated, with a delightful bubbly effervescence. You won’t regret a visit here! ”
“ We were down the road at their winery (Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards) and decided to pop over to the cidery , great experience and beautiful ciders! The converted barn was absolutely gorgeous inside ( we came on a rainy day ) and Derek was super fun and knowledgeable to chat with. My husband and I each had a full tasting - the way to go on your first time!- and left with a selection of our favorites to enjoy back home in Texas. The Wallace and the Sugarloaf in particular were complex with lots of interest and just the right amount of sweetness. Just like the wines at their winery, the cider here is estate grown. Highly recommend! ”
“ Absolutely stunning experience. The cider is almost as good as the views, but the ancient barn that houses it all really ties the experience together. ”
“ We had the hot spiced apple cider with blackberry brandy (just a splash). It was absolutely delicious! Not too sweet, not too spicy, just perfect. Live about music, comfy atmosphere and friendly service. Great place for a chilly afternoon date. ”
“ My entire family just spent a week onsite in their AirBnB. The cider and wine were amazing and staff was so welcoming I never wanted to leave. We had an incredible experience... Such a beautiful vision for the family farm. ”
